I am looking forward to summer vacation! This year has been a fun but overwhelming year so I am excited for summer to come along. I still have few kiddos that cannot read CVC words yet. I decided to make a CVC activity to help them using a summer theme. Can't you tell I am excited for summer?!?! I got the idea from someone that did the Arctic Freeze. Thought it would be nice to have a CVC one with a different theme. I will be making one with blends/digraphs and silent e since my other kiddos are working on those. COMING VERY SOON! Hope you enjoy the activity and please leave a comment if you decide to grab one. I really appreciate kind comments :)
I just have the kiddos write the letters inside the box or use magnet letters instead of making letter cards and having them put it in each box. I thought making letter cards was too difficult to manage and dry erase/magnet letters would work much better. Click on the link below if you like to purchase a copy.

Writing Checklist Bookmark
In the beginning of the school year, my students and I really dislike writing time. Growing up, I was never fond of writing so I had a "I can care less attitude." But after teaching writing and seeing the growth my students has made in writing, I am now passionate about it. My students even ask for more time during writing block! How amazing is that!!!! I am a proud teacher :) A person that inspired me to teach writing is Deedee Wills from Mrs. Wills Kindergarten. If you have not check out her blog, it is a MUST! She does an amazing job talking about her writing block. She created a writing paper to use with her kids with editing checklist on the bottom. What a smart lady! I decided to take her idea and create a writing checklist bookmark for my kids so they can have it in their writing folder to reference. If you would like to purchase it, please go to my TPT store

Blends and Digraphs Write the Room
We have been doing an amazing job with CVC words so I decided to start on blends and digraphs. We started last week and boy they are doing an amazing job with it. I created a write the room that focused on blends and digraphs since CVC was not challenging them. Feel free to grab your copy.
Here is a recording sheet that I found somewhere in the blogging word for students to record their answers. Please let me know if it is yours so I can give you credit. I love this recording sheet!
Please leave a comment if you grab a copy. I would appreciate it.
Happy Easter!

Currently in April
I have been such a bad blogger this month. There was so many things to do and I feel like I am not even close to being done with it. My to-do list just keeps getting longer and longer. I can't wait until summer and be done with my masters! It has been a long and dreadful process. Anyways, I decided to take a moment and join a linky party that I do every month.

Lovely Blog Award
Seriously it is 3:43 am over here but somehow I still have the energy to be up even after a long day. I got my report cards done today! Wahoo! As I was laying in bed, I couldn't sleep so decided to get up and write my sub plan for next Monday. Maybe all this excitement around California is causing me not sleep.

Currently March
My favorite linky party! I love to read what other fellow bloggers are currently up to. To join the fun, head on over to Oh' Boy 4th Grade. I have found some awesome blogs because of this linky party.
Here's my currently:
Based on it, you can sorta tell my mood: EXHAUSTED and SO OVER IT! It has been a C-R-A-Z-Y month. We had the 100th day of school, snow days (a week of it!), Dr. Seuss' birthday, getting ready for Young Author's Day, and in the mix of all that LOTS of assessing because report cards are due in a week or so. Plus we have early dismissal this week and PD next Friday so that leaves me with less time to get the kids Young Author's Day books done. So at our school, we have a tradition where every child writes a book and that entire day of school they go and read their books that they wrote. It is kinda a big deal. This is my first year at this school so my first year doing this project and boy it is EXHAUSTING. I think it is a bit too early for my kindergartners because we are still learning so much and having them write a book has been like pulling teeth. They had to make a cover, a dedication page, all about the author, and write a few pages for their book. I think the kids and I are just all so over it. I have been trying to fit everything in my schedule and it seems impossible even if I get to work at 7 am, I feel like there is so much to do. On top of all this, I have to get my masters project started. Ahhh!! I am going crazy. I just can't wait to get this all done and enjoy my trip to California to see my brand new niece, dad, brothers, best friends, cousins, and the list goes on. I miss my hometown :( Hopefully after I get my National Board done, I can move back to California. Okay, it is time to get focus on school work before my Desperate Housewives comes on.
