Sneak Peek Into My Classroom

As some of you may know, I moved room this year since I will be teaching first grade.  I am excited and looking forward to this journey.  I have heard from others that first grade was the best grade to teach.  Right now I will beg to differ because I think kindergarten is pretty awesome but we will see.  I'm glad that I will have about half of my students from last year.  I do not know the exact count since I have not seen my class list.  We have 13 more days until the first day of school.  I don't know about you but I am so darn excited for school to start.  Since I am moving on to first grade and the kids are much more independent, I thought I try some new things this year.  I got rid of my behavior clip chart and will implement super improvers wall from Whole Brain Teaching instead.  I will also be implementing CAFE this year with firsties.  I think it is important to teach students various reading strategies and CAFE will help me do so.  In addition to new grade level this year, I will also have a yearlong student teacher.  I am so excited and can't wait to meet him/her.  This will be a learning opportunity for both of us and I am sure it will make me a better teacher.  Okay, I can go on and on but I won't bore you.  I will leave you with some pictures of my classroom.  Some pictures may repeat but oh well :)
