Currently June

I can't believe its been almost 6 months since I have last blogged. Life has been a bit hectic in first grade.  I am excited that summer is almost here!

Listening: Yes, I am a fan of the real housewives. Thank goodness for xfinity. I can watch it on my spare time.

Loving: This is the first year that I am truly excited about summer. Don't get me wrong, I love having days off but sometimes it feels as if it is TOO long. I am looking forward to this summer because I have some fun plans, such as, visiting my hometown.

Thinking: Because we are relocating for two years to a temporary building while our new school is being built, I have to pack up all my stuff and move it. The new building does not have storage space so it is time to get rid of stuff I don't need. I am dreading this process. I have to be done by June 25th and school ends on the 19th.

Wanting: I need a new pair of sunglasses and a massage. I need to learn how to relax :)


Needing: A vacation. The last time I went on a vacation was probably three years ago. Time to start planning a trip.

Summer bucket list: I have been on and off the work out train. It is so hard to find time, especially towards the end of the school year. My hope is to start going back at least 4 times a week during summer.

I hope to be blogging again soon! I am excited to have time off during summer to create new units.  This teacher is teaching first grade again :)

Currently and First Grade Phonics

I am loving Fall with pumpkin everything! I just wish it didn't rain so much in Seattle. I have been extremely busy and I feel like I am super behind this year. I started my National Board and new grade level this year. I am LOVING first grade. It was hard to leave kindergarten but teaching first graders are so much easier. They know what to do without my help all the time! It's amazing! It is also nice having half of your kids in kindergarten again. They know what to do and are great role models to the other kids. I can't say enough how lucky I am to have the best class to do my National Board with. They are truly amazing and very sweet. Okay, enough about me. Here's my currently for the month of October. I also created Phonics Lessons Made Easy for First Grade, resource and ideas from Fountas and Pinnell. You will need the Fountas & Pinnell curriculum to use this guide.
