Handprint Calendar: Gift to their Parents

I must admit, this is a LONG project but well worth it. If I was a parent, I would cherish this forever. I can't wait until Friday when my sweeties give it to their family.

If You Give a Kindergartner a Paper

My kiddos have really been into Laura Numeroff's books and begged me to read all her books within a day! Oh my word, they were surprisingly quiet and into it. One of my sweetie pies suggested that we make our own version of her book which leads me to If You Give a Kindergartner a Paper. Feel free to grab your copy here! Comments are appreciated :)

Linky Party at Oh' Boy 4th Grade

Oh' Boy 4th Grade is having a linky party. Head over there and join the fun. Great way to get your mind off of lesson planning!

Here is what I am currently doing:

Sight Word Activity

I was running out of things for my kids to do to learn the sight words.  We focus on a sight word a week using poetry and other activities I have found online.  We do a different activity each day to keep the kids interested and engage.  My kids were getting tired of the same activity we were doing each week with just different sight word.  As I was brainstorming, I came up with an activity that will require students to put in some time and effort that also reinforce the skills of cutting, gluing, and writing Grab it here and please provide feedback.  I will be adding more sight words later on.

Me? Blog on Fire Award? Can't Be!

Thanks to one of my new follower (Crisscross Applesauce in First Grade)for giving me the blog on fire award.

So I am now suppose to tell you 7 things about me and nominate 7 other blogs.

1. This will be my 3rd year teaching kindergarten.
2. Teaching is basically my life since I have no kids.
3. I pretty much get sick every other week.
4. I am a boring person and loves to spend time at home.
5. I am addicted to Starbucks and need it daily in order to keep me going.
6. My favorite color is pink and I love hello kitty.
7. I was born and raised in California but now live in the rainy city of Seattle.

It was hard to just pick 7 blogs since each and every one of you have great ideas!  But here are the 7 blogs that truly inspire me to be a better teacher.

Bump It Sneak Peek and What is the Password?

Click here for the first mat. I am in the process of creating more bump it mats.  It will be available starting next week for FREE!

The one I used previous to this one was causing traffic jam in front of my door since students had to flip the paper in order to see the secret password.  I like this one because they can just glance at it without touching anything.  I recommend to laminate it and use vis-a-vis marker to write on it.  If you like a copy, click here.  I would love to get feedback from y'all :)
