Classroom Management
So I decided to do both Bucket Filler and the Color Behavior System in my classroom. I want the Bucket Filler to be whole class while the color behavior system is for individual students. I want my color behavior system to be a positive one rather than a negative one so I made few changes. Students are able to move up or down throughout the day and when they receive the warning colors, they can still move back up to green or purple. Everyone starts on green each day and can move to purple if they are being fabulous!
Here is a picture of my bucket filler that I created. I got the idea/inspiration from a bucket filler I saw on a blog but can't remember the exact blog. Sorry.

Organizer for Assessment Stuff
So I got tired of making my students wait while I try to find the papers that I need to assess them or finding where I store their last assessment materials. I decided that I need to do something differently. And here is my solution.
Inside, there are hanging file folders. One file per student. In there I keep their running records and all other reading/writing assessment. I also keep a folder with all my running records and sheets that I will need to assess my kiddos. By doing so, I do not need to have the students wait for me.
On top of the storage, there is a place for me to store sticky notes, pen/pencil, or other materials that I will need. Instead of the students coming to me, I can just carry this over to where they are at!

Book List to Read
So before school got out, I had a list of books I would love to read and finish before summer ends. However, I feel like I keep adding to my list rather then getting some cross off.
Here are my list of books to hopefully read or finish:
Growing Readers
Math Workstations
What Really Matters for Struggling Readers
Re-read Daily 5/CAFE
The First Six Weeks of School
Reading Essentials
Spaces & Places
And on top of all this, read the textbooks required for my masters!

Classroom Management
I have been debating as to what classroom management system I would like to do next year. I am debating between the colored "turn your card" system or bucket filler.
As of right now, I am leaning toward bucket filler. Below is the link to the poster I have created for Bucket Filler.

I have a problem and it is my addiction toward spending money on my classroom!
Every time I go to Target or Dollar Tree, I have to buy things for my classroom. I will tell myself oh it is only $1 but somehow every trip I end up spending over $25. And because Lakeshore Learning is having their 20% off sale, I went there and purchased everything that I felt I needed. Ended up leaving the price $300 poorer. But I know my kiddos will love all the goodies I got!
But I need to brag about all the books I got today for $225. I got over 300 books at Half Price Books sale. Look at all the amazing books I got for my classroom library. My goal is to buy at least 400 more books so I can have at least 1,000 books in my classroom library. I need to purchase more non-fiction and math books!

Bargain Shopping
So I went to Dollar Tree and Target to get some more stuff for my classroom. Oh my, I found fabulous items.
I got the apple bell, happy face magnets, bingo marker, and the signs at Dollar Tree. The alphabet bingo, matching upper/lowercase cards, and the pink/white containers (from my leveled books) from Target. I also got more stuff but it is in the trunk of my car.
Another deal that I got was these bins. On really good stuff, they are 16.99 for a pack of fours but I got them at Target for $2.50 each.
Lastly, I have always wanted this 10 drawer cart but thought it was too expensive. They were originally selling for $89.99 at Joanns but they are currently on sale. I believe I got it for $44.
